​The Ingersoll Rand SS3L3 is a stationary single-stage compressor with a cast iron tank for durability. It is a continuous duty machine meaning it can run continuously without it overheating, but it also incorporates thermal overload protection and manual reset for protection. Excess condensation in the tank can be extracted via a manual drain located in a dificult-to-access location at the bottom of the tank. Note it has a 3/8" NPT outlet. It requires a 30A-rated, 230V household outlet and it is advisable to buy the start-up kit that goes with it as oil does not come with the compressor.

​The Industrial Air ILA3606056 is exactly the same as the Powermate PLA3706056 reviewed here and has all the same features except for the colour. It has a pressure gauge and on/off switch. It operates on a 240V household circuit and arrives already with oil loaded in the machine but it does not come with a regulator nor power cord. As with all compressors this size, the air is heated up significantly when it is compressed. A recommended addtion therefore is to install an 'after-cooler' before the air enters the tank if it is particularly important that your compressed air should be cool.

The VT6275 is made by air compressor maker, Campbell Hausfeld. It is a single-stage oil-lubricated stationary compressor and has a cast iron tank for durability. As with other stationary compressors, this is compressor is not for the novice as you will need to purchase other accessories such as the appropriate regulator to get it to work. It also needs to be wired into a 220-240V household circuit. As with other stationary compressors, the tank becomes very hot when used for extended periods and this can present problems if hot compressed air is undersirable.
